Definitions and mathematical statement

Shared notation.
$\mathbb N=\{1,2,\ldots\}$, and $\mathbb Z,\mathbb Q,\mathbb R,\mathbb C$ denote the integers, rationals, reals and complex numbers. Any other conventions are specified locally.

The Pell numbers are $P_0=0$, $P_1=1$ and $P_{n+2}=2P_{n+1}+P_n$ for $n\ge0$. A Pell prime is a prime value $P_n$.

Statement recorded in the supplied source.
